HARGEISA— The Fifth General Assembly meeting of SONSAF is currently continuing at Ambassador Hotel, Hargeisa. During the meeting, SONSAF members will elect new Board of Directors.
The outgoing chairman of SONSAF Mr. Mustafe Sa’ad Dhimbil spoke the history and the achievements of SONSAF and has pledged his cooperation and full support to the new leadership.
The new Chairman of SONSAF2 Mr. Anwar Abdirahman Said ” Speaking from my position and my Board team, I promise in two years from now SONSAF success will reach a whole different level also, I assure all SONSAF’s members that we will exercise better communication approaches”
The Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Madam Hinda Jama Gaani thanked SONSAF for inviting her this General Assembly meeting. She also praised the role of CSOs in advocating the inclusion of women and marginalized groups in the decision of making process.
The Mayor of Hargeisa Congratulated SONSAF for exercising total civility in elected their new Board Members including Chairperson, Vice Chairman, Treasury and secretariat.
Minister of National Planning and Development Honorable. Awale Ibrahim Shirwac officially opened the meeting applauded SONSAF and encouraged them to continue to be agency for accountability, ensure effective dissemination of service delivery and give voice to vulnerable groups.
In keeping with the practice, Three Sectors of SONSAF Representing the Private Sector, CSOs and Professionals Elected 17 new acting Board members.
