Rakitic scored the opening goal for Barcelona four minutes into the Saturday night game at Olympiastadion stadium in the German capital Berlin.
In a brilliant teamwork, Lionel Messi found Jordi Alba on the left, who passed the ball to Neymar. The Brazilian relayed it for Andrés Iniesta and the Spanish maestro sidefooted it to Rakitic who slotted home the opener.
In the 55th minute, Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio sent in a cross just behind his teammate Carlos Tevez, who rifled a shot low at Barca keeper Ter Stegen from 12 yards. The keeper saved the goal but couldn’t smother the ball and served it straight to Alvaro Morata to drive into an open goal on a rebound.
Barcelona forward Luis Suárez scored the second goal for his team in the 68th minute after Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon denied Messi’s first attempt.
In the 71st minute, Neymar scored and celebrated but the goal was disallowed by the referee as the Brazillian’s header hit his own hand before slotting into Juventus net.
Neymar, however, did not give up on attempts to penetrate into the Italian squad’s defense line and smashed home seven minutes into the extra time after Juventus was sent everyone forward for a free kick.
In a counter attack, Pedro sent the ball to the left for Brazilian forward who netted the ball from the edge of the box.
