HARGEISA , (HargeisaPress) —Somaliland Non – State Actors Forum (SONSAF), a nation-wide civil society organizations umbrella on Tuesday released preliminary findings on voter registration in Sahil region, Gabilay and Baligubadle district.
SONSAF’s voter registration report entitled “Voter Registration Briefing Paper 3: Sahil, Gabilay and Bali-gubadle Voter Registration Preliminary Findings” is the third Civil Society domestic observation preliminary report on voter registration across the country.
In the Report, civil society domestic observers reported the successful ending of the first phase of voter registration in Sahil region, Gabiley and Baligubadle.
civil society domestic observers also reported that voter registration code of conduct was violated by the political parties particularly the ruling party of Kulmiye and Wadani where they appealed from the political parties to respect the voter registration code of conduct and recommended voter registration Disciplinary Committee to tight their monitoring of political parties and their compliance to the code of conduct.
