The government of Somaliland has launched a campaign to arrest Ethiopians who do not have legal status to return them to their country.

The police forces of the city, with net cars to transport the prisoners, were seen this morning in the market places, arresting the Ethiopians who are illegally in Somaliland.

Although there are many Ethiopians in Somaliland with refugee cards and visas and working, there are those who enter illegally every year, who are sometimes turned back.

These people, most of whom belong to the Oromo ethnic group, the largest in Ethiopia, are mostly poor people, who do menial jobs such as washing cars, while some of them beg.
