The general manager of Dahabshiil Group, Abdirashid Duale, participated in the 27th “Beyond the Future” conference, held at Harvard University in the United States, one of the best universities in the world, where he spoke about the future of the African economy and the role of business innovation.

The general manager of the African remittance company, Dahabshiil Abdirashid Duale, said that the future of Africa depends on entrepreneurship and the utilization of its material and human resources.

Speaking at the Harvard African Business Conference, Abdirashid Duale said that with a rapidly expanding youth workforce, Africa has an incredible opportunity to lead the world in technological innovation and finance.

The conference named “Beyond Border” brought together economic leaders, businessmen, politicians, diplomats, policy makers and African business experts including the former governor of the Central Bank of Kenya Patrick Njoroge.

He said that in areas such as mobile payments, the continent has already set international standards but the challenge now is to maintain and increase this standard.

“It is important that Africa as a continent comes up with strategies that do not only aim to improve what has been done but also how to effectively align with the rest of the world if it cannot be overcome,” said Abdirashid Duale.

Abdirashid Duale, said that the future of Africa depends on entrepreneurship and the utilization of its material and human resources.

The event, aimed at redefining the continent’s economy and investment, with a particular focus on building financial systems across Africa.

Abdirashid Duale, who recently attended the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States of America Donald Trump on Capitol Hill in January, was challenged to talk about whether Africa can truly transcend borders.

He said that several financial services companies like Dahabshiil are already at the forefront of technological innovation, taking over a strong legal framework and expanding access to finance.

“Just as Africa jumped from the landline to mobile connectivity, the continent’s economic transformation is following a similar path. This is a clear indicator that Africa can indeed transcend borders,” said Abdirashid Duale.

His vision centered on the critical role of financial inclusion, technology, and regulatory compliance in unlocking Africa’s economic potential.

The Africa Business Summit 2025 left attendees hopeful about the continent’s future.

The presence of prominent private sector leaders underscores the enormous potential of business and economic behavior in Africa to drive its development.

If the Harvard debates are any indication, Africa’s next chapter will not be limited by its borders – but defined by its ability to transcend.
