Hargeisa, (HargeisaPress) —Somaliland Head of State, His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo has urged residents in the country’s eastern provinces to collect voter cards. The President has made this remarks in an interview with a reporter from the State television.
The president has said that it is a duty to hold free and fair elections in Somaliland and reiterated the importance of citizens to have their voter cards. He has encouraged all SL citizens to get prepared for the upcoming elections.
Once asked about the president who sides with his ruling party during the elections, the president further said that he is entitled to throw his weight behind his party flag bearer as the country embraced multi party politics.
Mr. Silanyo has debunked all rumors circulated by opposition members that he is mentally incapacitated and does not rule the country, he responded that those questioned the health of the president and who rules the country and who is in charge of the country is a question for them to answer.
The Head of State has said that he is fit as a fiddle and expressed thanks to the grace of almighty Allah.
The President has repudiated that he has not delegated his duties to individuals who rule the country behind the scenes.
Finally, Mr. Silanyo has called on the three presidential candidates to accept and abide by the outcome of the vote.
