Hargeisa,(HargeisaPress) — The Somaliland resident Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo jetted back into the country this morning.
To receive the President Silanyo at Egal international Airport was VP Abdirahman Abdilahi Sayli leading a large reception committee of hundreds of citizens that included cabinet ministers, service commanders, parliamentarians and leaders from the ruling Kulmiye party.
“Am happy to be back home” said president Silanyo during a press briefing at the airport’s VIP lounge where he also thanked Somalilanders for the peaceful manner they conducted Eid ul-Fitr festivities nationwide. The head of state who informed that he similarly had a quality Eid holiday in which he celebrated with British Somalilanders in London where he also exchanged briefings with the diaspora on issues related to national interests.
Prior to his departure for a short vacation in the UK where he also spend quality time with his spouse, the Somaliland 1st lady Amina Mohamed Jirde and took time out to entertain some of his grandchildren president Silanyo had met with the Ethiopian Prime minister in Addis Ababa for discussions related to bi-lateral relations between the two neighbouring and friendly countries.
