Mo Farah missed out on breaking his own British 10,000 metres record by just over four seconds as he showed he was in fine form for the track season ahead with victory over a useful field on the opening night of the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League meeting in Eugene, Orgeon.
Farah won the race in 26:50.97, winning a final lap sprint against two Kenyans, Paul Tanui, who won bronze behind Farah at the World Championships in Moscow in 2013, and Geoffrey Kamworor.
