Mo Farah has made history with his gold medal in the men’s 10,000m on Friday by becoming the first athlete to secure 10 consecutive global track distance titles.

The Briton finished first in the 10,000m race at the London Stadium to achieve the historic feat in what was the first medal of the 2017 World Athletics Championships.

He now has the chance to win his 11th global track distance title when he competes in the 5,000m race on Saturday 12 August.

Should he do that, he will add to the world doubles he got in 2013 and 2015 and the Olympic doubles that he won in this same stadium in 2012 and at Rio last year.
